Metro Denver EDC: Benchmark for Monthly Economic Indicators March 2023

Dear EDC Investors, Partners and Friends:

The Current Employment Statistics (CES) employment estimates, which are derived using a sampling methodology, are benchmarked annually each March to actual employment counts from a census of the employer population. These counts come primarily from employment data provided in unemployment insurance tax reports that nearly all employers are required to file with their respective state workforce agencies.

The annual benchmark revision of the CES data for Metro Denver resulted in an upward revision to the 2021 and 2022 employment levels. Metro Denver employment was revised up by 8,300 workers in 2021 and by 9,900 workers in 2022. Employment in the Denver MSA was revised up by 6,800 workers in 2021 and 8,800 workers in 2022, while employment in the Boulder MSA was revised up by 1,500 employees in 2021 and 1,100 employees in 2022.
